Insulated Glass

Confortec Insulated Glassing

Insulated glass, also known as double glassing CONFORTEC, consist of two or more glass window panes separated by a space and filled with gas forming a sealed chamber. Its main attribuate is to improve thermal performance by reducing heat transfer to indoor environment and acustic insulation.

Some of the exclusivity features of PKO do Brasil is that we offer clients tripled isolated and insulated glass lagged on up to four sides. It can be processed in different profiles varing in thicknesses and widths, in any sequence.

PKO manufactures insulated glasses in compliance with the newly published technical standard ABNT [“Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas” – “Brazilian Association of Technical Standards”] NBR [“Norma Brasileira” – “Brazilian Standard”] 16015.

Benefits of Insulated Glass

  • It is a versitile product that can be combined with many types of glass, such as laminated, tempered and solar control, among others, based on the performance required.
  • It has an excellent thermal insulator making it the perfect choice for places with great temperature variaties, ranging form hot or cold weather. It is due to these specifications that the insulated glass has been widely used in the refrigeration market.
  • The air chamber that is created between the gap of the double paned glass provides enhanced sound acoustic insulation which is optimized with the injection of argon gas between the panes and with the application of laminated glass.
